Why I switched from Notion to Obsidian and never looked back
By NeonGamer522 · DISCUSSION · About Obsidian
After 3 years of Notion I made the switch to Obsidian. Here's why:
1. **Local-first**: My notes are mine. Markdown files on my disk. No vendor lock-in.
2. **Speed**: Obsidian is FAST. Notion had gotten painfully slow with my 5000+ notes.
3. **Plugins**: The community plugin ecosystem is incredible.
4. **Graph view**: Seeing connections between notes is genuinely useful, not just pretty.
What I miss: Notion's database views and team collaboration. But for personal knowledge management, Obsidian wins hands down.
