Sonos Era 300 — spatial audio is a gimmick, change my mind

Bought the Era 300 specifically for Dolby Atmos spatial audio. After a month of testing with various music:
Spatial audio tracks: 10% of the time it sounds amazing, 90% it sounds weird and hollow
Regular stereo: Sounds great, but not $450 great
The regular Era 100 at half the price sounds 90% as good for stereo music. The spatial audio premium is not worth it unless you're in a very specific listening environment.
Convince me I'm wrong.
