EV charging infrastructure in 2026 — is it finally good enough?
By StormDragon762 · DISCUSSION · About Tesla Model Y
Just did a 1,500 mile road trip in my Tesla Model Y. The charging experience:
- Supercharger network: 9/10, fast and reliable as always
- Third-party chargers: 6/10, still hit-or-miss. 2 out of 8 were broken.
- Home charging: 10/10, wake up to full every day
- Average wait time at Superchargers: 5-15 min during peak times
The infrastructure is WAY better than 2 years ago but still not at 'gas station convenient' level. For road trips you still need to plan around charging. Worth it though.
