And so…
By HappySpark80 · DISCUSSION · About ChatGPT
I saw this on Instagram today. Tbh I’m all about hating on AI (particularly for geopolitical, environmental, and security reasons…it’s awful), but this particular crit is introguing to me because it touches on what I consider its poorest use (and from what ppl post here, its most typical usage). You can literally ask it anything, and people are now hating en masse because it gives personal affirmation that they explicitly request and maintain its default settings to provide. Like it’s always, “Why does ChatGPT glaze me?” but rarely, “Why am I asking it existential questions instead of treating it like a research tool or wondering about things besides my personal life?”
People have the library of Alexandria at their fingertips and then go, “Mirror mirror on the wall”…
Its creators clearly bank on this. But ultimately, you decide both what you use it for, and how often you do.
