Finally joined the Tesla family last week!
Here in the Netherlands, the Model Y Standard lists at €39,990. Tesla was offering a €5k trade-in bonus, bringing it down to €34,990 net. But here's the thing,I had 2021 Corolla Touring Sports Hybrid that I knew I could sell privately for way more than Tesla would give me on trade-in.
So what did I do? Found a 26-year-old Renault Clio for a few hundred euros, bought it specifically for the trade-in, and sold my Corolla privately for nearly €20k. Tesla got the old Clio to satisfy the trade-in requirement, I got the full €5k discount PLUS maximum value for my Corolla. Win-win.
Whole process went smoother than expected.
The Model Y is incredible. Coming from a hybrid, the instant EV torque is addictive. Love the one-pedal driving and figuring out all the other features. Already swapped the 18" Aperture steelies for 18" Dezent AR Dark alloys, kept the same size to preserve range but much better look.
TL;DR: €35k net for a brand new Model Y by gaming the trade-in system legally. Not bad.

StormNinja586: Before I even opened the post I guessed you were from the netherlands based on the house lol
Anyway nice car! enjoy it!
StormNinja586: Wow that is really smart. Congratulations/gefeliciteerd!
SwiftCoder4821: Good job! Here we also had the trade in bonus for 3000€ but you needed to be the owner of the car before the campaign started. Thought of this same exact thing!
FrostNinja842: Hi Op we just picked up our MY Standard here in the U.K. too. Super happy with it. Seems the European standard versions are much better Spec’d than the North American standards.
