Apple HomePod vs the competition — which should I buy?

I'm torn between Apple HomePod and its main competitors. Can anyone who has tried both share their experience? I mainly care about reliability, value for money, and long-term support. Budget isn't the primary concern.

CrystalScout894: For anyone wondering, yes Apple HomePod is worth it at the current price. I did extensive research before buying and don't regret it at all.

SarahKim: I went back and forth for weeks and finally bought it. No regrets.

SwiftEcho377: Had the same problem. Try resetting to factory defaults and setting up from scratch. Fixed it for me. Pain to reconfigure everything but it works.

WildOrbit297: Interesting perspective. My experience has been the opposite actually. Apple HomePod has been rock solid for me since day one. Maybe it depends on the specific use case?
