Battery drain issue with Samsung T9 Portable SSD

Has anyone else noticed severe battery drain with Samsung T9 Portable SSD recently? Mine went from lasting all day to barely making it past noon. I haven't changed my usage patterns. Wondering if a recent firmware update caused this regression.
