The state of Duolingo in 2026

With all the competition in this space, where does Duolingo stand heading into 2026? I think it still has strong fundamentals but the lack of innovation recently is concerning. The ecosystem is mature which is both a strength and a weakness. What do you all think about its future?

ThunderCoder34: Not sure I agree with the criticism here. Duolingo has been reliable for me across multiple use cases. Maybe I just got lucky with my unit though.

FrostNinja842: I think we'll look back on this era as a turning point. Whether that's good or bad remains to be seen.

SwiftEcho377: Had the same problem. Try resetting to factory defaults and setting up from scratch. Fixed it for me. Pain to reconfigure everything but it works.
